“SEO is a marketing function for sure,
but it needs to be baked into a product,
not slapped on like icing
after the cake is baked.”

A day in the life of an 18 hour, Greek involved, interning, working student.

By: Emma Cole - Marshall University

Tuesday morning that alarm clock rings:
Be prepared. Set multiple alarms for your 9:30am class the night before. If you sleep through on, you’ll sleep through them all. As annoying as it is, get up and get to class!

Sitting in your first class of five for the day:
Open up your planner and evaluate your day ahead of you. You may be falling asleep, but if you stay organized enough and see how busy you are, you’ll wake up real quick!

Another class goes by:
You’ll finally be fully wake and ready to take on your day by 11am, hopefully. Start paying attention, or try to at least! Take some notes. Neat notes that is, you’ve to go be able to read and follow them later.

Still no break but on to your next class:
It is lunch time! You better have your backpack full of snacks. You will constantly have to eat on the go! You do not have time to stop by the student center for a meal.

You may feel consumed with school at this part of the day:
Don’t forget about the Greek commitment and internship you have. Check-in with those using the GroupMe and Podio apps. Keep in touch and up to the minute on any developments.

Ok, you’re still in class, don’t forget that:
You may be experience overload and your classes are running together. Keep them straight by color coding your classes in a 5-subject notebook.

Finally, your last class of the day, but also your longest:
4:00-6:20! It is awful, you’re drained. Every time you look at the clock, it has only been a few minutes. The more you look, the slower it goes by!

You survived classes for the day:
Rush home to unwind with your sorority sisters… for 15 minutes! Grab a bite to eat and catch a few laughs. Put the most time you can into something you have such commitment for.

The fun doesn’t last long:
It is off to work you go. Be there by 7pm and make sure you aren’t late! Clock-in and let the evening of bartending being!

It should be time for bed:
Instead, you’re still at work! Keep your eyes open! It is going to be rough. Remember, drink responsibly!

You’re done! Literally:
Off work and absolutely dead tired! Hop in your car, roll the windows down, and crank your music to keep you awake! Your bed is calling your name!

Oh yeah, throughout your day, don’t forget to breath and enjoy the experience!
