“SEO is a marketing function for sure,
but it needs to be baked into a product,
not slapped on like icing
after the cake is baked.”

Celebrating Our 100th Blog!

Celebration is in order for our 100th blog post! Firstly, we want to thank everyone who has read any of our blogs in the past. We have had a lot of fun writing these posts and appreciate every visitor that comes to the page – both our regulars and those who are just passing through. We doubly appreciate those of you who have reached out and commented on a post!

Our past 99 blogs have covered a number of ways you can better save and spend your money – frombuying a car, to “affordable” dates, to whether or not upgrading to a paid version of a mobile app is worth it. The mission of our blog is similar to that of our service: to offer something that has been missing – financial solutions – to students and young adults. As we proceed (to give you what ya’ll need), we will continue to refine our focus to better deliver you valuable and informative ways to manage your money – from everyday purchases to long term saving. Likewise, as we innovate the Waspit platform, we will keep developing relevant and meaningful features that actually relate to the user and the users’ needs. Excitement is escalating around the Waspit HQ as the platform progresses and the live date of our new platform grows near!

When it comes to looking back at our blogs, it’s hard to pinpoint one post as our favorite because all bring back specific memories; some, however, proved more popular than others! The post that really kicked off the new angle our blog took was Kasey’s “The Waspit Team Expands” from last June. In addition to the new voice we opted to take, it also introduced the first interns Waspit brought on. Fast forward a year and we now have a new force of interns who will try to top the accomplishments of Kimberly, Dan and Nik. Keep an eye out for a blog by new interns, Kate and Lindsay!

The blog also gave us the opportunity to update our followers on industry conferences we were fortunate enough to attend, namely Finovate Fall, Money2020 and the Pymnts.com Innovation Awards. Overall, we got constructive and positive feedback from these events and even won a few awards along the way!

More recently, the addition of our new graphic design intern, Fabian, has given us the opportunity to create some awesome infographics and images, not only for the blog but all of our social media efforts. It’s his contributions in a particular project however, that we are most excited to present.

In the spirit of saving the best for last, we are excited to introduce a new marketing campaign we are starting this summer called Waspit Law. Every week we will present one of our many Waspit Laws that we have developed. The laws will include general rules that we work by, but also anything that involves college life and managing money. Our many perspectives here at the HQ have provided a great foundation of helpful tips, but we’ll need your input to help us develop the rest! Check back for more updates on contests we will be having over the summer to find the best Waspit Laws!

For now, enjoy our golden rule: Less is More (except when it comes to your money). The moral of this rule is to not over think it and keep it simple!
